Not much going on today, went down to Cable Beach only a block away. Such fine white sand for miles, nice blue water and it was a hot 36. Also checked out the local market and another beach on the other side of town in Roebuck Bay

Derby to Broome

After our return sea plane flight and awesome horizontal falls trip this morning, we moved from Derby to Broome, and set up here near Cable Beach. Huge caravan park with almost 500 sites.

Awesome day/night - Horizontal falls. Warning - Severe jelously resulting for readers!!!

Fly in the float plane (with Nathan as 'co-pilot' this time) over Derby and mud flats to Talbot Bay, then watch the (tawny nurse) sharks from the shark tank or pontoon. (They hang around well into the night) Next a twilight tour of the nearby creek/bay area, including a quick trip through the 2 horizontal falls. One is wider than the other. The evening had only about 0.5m drop through the narrow falls, still pretty spectacular.

Hang around on our 6 week old house boat drinking some beverages, whilst our barra is BBQ'ed and the sun sets.

Then the main event - speed boat through a 2m tide at the falls - twice! The boat doesn't have 'seats', you straddle a padded seat and hold on to the purpose bars in front! Photos aren't going to illustrate this adrenelin ride. We couldn't even take a decent video of it from the speed and boat movement (not to mention Nathan's second shower). 50m deep channel through a narrowing just wider than the boat, draining a whole bay, with strong currents and eddies- AWESOME.

Then we had to leave, back on the sea plane over the Buccaneer Archipelago islands and barramundi farm to Derby. Where yet again Alison was 'co-pilot'.
